Today is a prime example as to why procrastinating is a Bad Thing. Yesterday - glorious, warm, sunny yesterday - I let myself get caught up with indoor chores, figuring that today I could get outside and start raking leaves, pulling up tomato plants and starting to put my beds to bed. Such was not to be -- it's cold, damp, thundering and generally quite icky out. The puppies are all on edge (thunder is a bad thing, if you have a noise-sensitive Sheltie) and snapping at each other and the kitties are all hiding out in the laundry room, shedding over all the clean clothes.
Only one way to salvage such a day -- roast beast! Yup, time to haul a hunk'o'carcass out of the freezer and chop up some root veggies. Think I'll make a Yorkshire pud, too.
Good idea, 'cause from the looks of the torrents outside, I'm going to need provisions for the next 40 days or so....
