It seems like forever since I've posted anything here -- I've been checking in on lj now and again, but during most of December I was either too busy or too wiped to write, and then too sick to care about writing. I find that when I'm feeling miserable, drinking tea and watching reruns of home shows or catching up on movies I've taped is about all I can handle. I hate being sick. I whine. Cuddling puppies helps, though.

Recently watched a great movie that I taped a while back - "The Dish", a Rob Stitch film about the Parkes Observatory in Australia and the part it (and its scientists) played in the Apollo 11 moon landing. It's quirky and humourous and touching and inspiring -- there's some good sentiments given voice in the dialogue, whether or not the folks the actors were playing ever said anything of the sort. There's some very human shining moments in this film that touched even the deep cynic in me.

Great thanks to ma sweetie who remembered she'd wanted to see it, and that I taped it, and got me to dig through the tape boxes to find it. (We SO have to invest in a dvd recorder. Soon, soon, my precious....)

And for those who prefer the Real Thing...
