Okay, so I know it's out there lurking somewhere, but today it's *really* hiding. I walked to the store this morning, wearing only a light coat, and stuffed my hat and gloves in my bag half-way there. Birds were singing... happily chirping away. But while it's mild, the air doesn't *feel* like spring - it's mild enough, but something's missing. And now, a few hours later, even the sun is shining. I know the cold and the snow will come back -- I really don't mind winter -- but for now I'm just going to enjoy the sunshine pouring in the windows. Maybe that's why I've felt so darned productive today. I've been a happy little multi-tasking homemaker. Three (no four!) loads of laundry, dinner's in the crockpot and I made two batches of buttermilk pancakes to freeze for future breakfasts, all while catching up on the ironing AND taken the doggies for walkies.

Carpe diem indeed! Seize the day, for tomorrow (or next week) we'll be shovelling...
