We're starting to get into the swing of things now. New shows of particular note...

NBC's Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip Aaron Sorkin's latest brainchild. Remember the film Network? This is a brilliant love child. Brilliant. Really. Wish I'd kept it; will likely try to catch it up later.

The show takes place behind the scenes of a fictional live sketch comedy show, similar to NBC's Saturday Night Live. The show-within-a-show, also called Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, is run by writer Matt Albie (Matthew Perry) and producer Danny Tripp (Bradley Whitford).

NBC's Heroes Am really liking this. Very well done. Am keeping it. Really want to see where this goes.

In the pilot episode, seemingly random people from around the world--including New York, Japan, India, and other places--discover that they have strange abilities, but are not quite sure how to react to them. At the same time, they find their lives intersecting randomly. A cheerleader in small-town Texas can heal herself at an inhuman rate. A nurse jumps from the roof of a building and finds his politician brother can fly. A woman finds herself with two personalities in one body. A Japanese man can bend space and time. At the episode's end, the nurse has gone with a patient's relative to her boyfriend's apartment where he has suffered a drug overdose. Earlier that day she learned that he had painted multiple pictures, all illustrations of the future. As they attempt to revive him, he can only mumble "We have to stop it." In horror, they see a huge mural painted on the floor showing a catastrophic event.

Justice Oh, this is loads of fun. Victor Garber completely chews the scenery. It'd be worth watching just for him, but I'm quite enjoying the other characters as well. The twist to this show is that at the end, after the verdict comes down, you get to see what really happened and who is really innocent/guilty. Boo-hiss that it's already going on hiatus 'cause of the silly World Series...

Oh, and how can I forget Hotel Babylon? http://www.bbc.co.uk/drama/hotelbabylon/
