I put this on this morning, not sure what I thought of it in the bottle. But I'm reeaally loving it on my skin -- I may have found my jasmine scent.

The jasmine leaps out fighting, with a cloying one-two punch. Nothing subtle here. But it quickly dries down warm, almost sultry with the spicy notes (it's definitely the sambac variety of jasmine that I've been craving) and the underlying musk. The violet is shy, just peeking out. I'm not really picking up the vanilla, but there's a richness to the base of this scent and I can't decide if it's from the musk, or the vanilla, or both. Likewise, I barely pick out the mimosa at all, it's so well blended with sambac spice.

Yes, I definitely have to get more of this. I have to make lotion....

5/5

THIRTEEN -- In our paean to all the mysteries surrounding this enigmatic number, there are thirteen lucky and unlucky components: cocoa and vanilla beans, Mysore sandalwood, star fruit, orange rind, red amber, fig leaf, mimosa, rooibos tea, bourbon geranium, rose otto, nutmeg, and lavender. Not really a "winter" scent, but I'll stick it in here anyway. REALLY tempted.

As for the rest, decisions, decisions....

BLACK ICE -- Lovely, dangerous, slick, and bitterly cold: chilly white sleet-like notes with a hint of vetiver, a breath of smoky asphalt, and winter wind. Hmm... interesting.

HALÔA -- Wine grapes, myrrh, frankincense and olive leaf, and the warm scent of offertory cakes. WANT. MUST HAVE.

HERR DROSSELMEYER 2006 -- This scent is dignified, refined, but dark, and hints towards esoteric mysteries and the secrets that tie mechanics to magick. Pipe smoke, sweet leather, woods and linen. Intriguing. And appealing.

LICK IT AGAIN -- Every holiday season should be full of lewd suggestions and filthy double entendres, right? This is a new take on last year’s Lick It – a peppermint candy cane with an extra jolt of sugar. I regretted missing this the first time around.

SNOW-FLAKES -- The radiance and desolation of winter. I love winter, and the snow. Intrigued and tempted. But it's so hard when there's no note notes...

SOL INVICTUS -- A radiant blend of solar oils: golden amber, saffron, heliotrope, hibiscus, citron, frangipani, frankincense, tangerine, mock orange, and orange blossom. Oh, yes.

THE WINTER OF OUR DISCONTENT -- Embrace your villainy: balsam, myrrh, mandarin orange, bitter clove, artemesia, rosewood, nutmeg, dark musk, smoke and cypress. Oh, YEAH.

YULE -- It is Yule, and the Holly King has slain the Oak: blood red holly berry, mistletoe, wild thyme, verbena, cinquefoil, hemp, winter rose, evergreen, frankincense, juniper, and myrrh. Tempting...
