Yesterday was lovely, and I was feeling lazy, so nothing much got done inside, and less got done outside. So of course today it rains. It's cold and wet and I didn't venture outside, even to get the recycling bins in, until just a little bit ago. Checked the mail. And SURPRISE!!
Heh. Now I just have to wait until everything comes back up to room temperature so I can try out the smellies!!
THIRTEEN
In our paean to all the mysteries surrounding this enigmatic number, there are thirteen lucky and unlucky components: cocoa and vanilla beans, Mysore sandalwood, star fruit, orange rind, red amber, fig leaf, mimosa, rooibos tea, bourbon geranium, rose otto, nutmeg, and lavender.
Oooh, a complex foody scent. Remember those oranges you turned into scent balls by studding them with cloves? This evokes someone doing that to a Terry’s dark chocolate orange. Like it muchbetter than the original 13.
HALÔA
Wine grapes, myrrh, frankincense and olive leaf, and the warm scent of offertory cakes.
Rich and delicious, but oddly not foody. And not for wearing. Perfect offertory/evocative scent. Will definitely use this in ritual.
SOL INVICTUS
A radiant blend of solar oils: golden amber, saffron, heliotrope, hibiscus, citron, frangipani, frankincense, tangerine, mock orange, and orange blossom.
Deep, warm, bright, with a citrus edge. A real golden scent – the saffron stands out more than the amber for me, which I wasn’t expecting. Still, the amber seems to bind everything else together and make it glow.
THE WINTER OF OUR DISCONTENT
Embrace your villainy: balsam, myrrh, mandarin orange, bitter clove, artemesia, rosewood, nutmeg, dark musk, smoke and cypress.
Really amazing scent. Cold, dark, resiny spice.
